I checked the camera on Sunday from my property in Buffalo County and was able to get a couple more of the 4 year old 6×6 that has made a several visits to the XWT Mineral station.
I have been able to capture this buck at different points of his rack development. We have the sheds from last year and he would have scored around 140″. Coming into this year I felt this buck could have found his way into the 160’s. I’m not sure if he will quite make it, but either way it is a buck that I will be after! All of these pictures were taken with the DLC Covert II Assasin trail camera. I should mention that every picture I have received of this buck has been during shooting hours. I hope he continues his pattern come September 12th.!

OK, so if you check back to this blog occassionally you are probably wondering where all the new posts have been. That’s a very good question! With all the work on the website going on I am going to use that as an excuse. Good or bad it’s time to get focused on this blog and use it like it should be used. The plan is to not go more than a couple of days with a new post. Who knows, by the end you may get sick of it!
As I write this I am also trying to plan out my fall. It should be a busy one that’s for sure. I am looking forward to starting the year off in Wyoming with Trophies Plus Outfitters. I have met Mike Watkins the owner a few times and have seen several hunts on TV at his place. Let’s just say I am pumped for this hunt. The season starts September 1st and I look to be out there chasing velvet bucks. Back home in Wisconsin, I’ll be making the 3.5 hour drive up to my Buffalo County property as much as possible. I have been getting a few pics of this 6×6 with 6 extra points hitting my XWT mineral. He is a 4 year old deer that will become a movie star if he comes my way. The good thing is every picture has been before dark. I look forward to chasing this buck and every other that I can! Good luck to each and everyone of you and be sure to keep us all updated on Whitetailworld!

1 buck that so far is at the top of my list

It’s been a while since there has been a post here. With the season getting 1 day closer everyday (duh) it’s time to start making sure this is updated. I can post pictures, but does video work here?

Many of you have been around from the beginning, but most have stumbled accross the site more recently. Initially Whitetailworld launched on July 1, 2006. I had the site built because of the passion I had for whitetails. My goal was to create a place for those that share in the passion to call home. It didn’t take long to realize that this was going to be a special place. Because of the growth I would soon find myself planning an all new site. This is the site we have today. I believe a major factor in the success of Whitetailworld is due to the members. For this I want to personally thank each one of you. I would also like to thank my Pro Staff. Not only are these guys excellent hunters they are good guys. Guys I know call my friends. Moving forward I look for Whitetailworld to continue to grow in a positive way. I’ve never had the goal of being the biggest site just the best! In the spring of 2010 we will release our first DVD. Our hope is to spotlight our members, so if you have any footage you would like to contribute please let me know. Also, if you interested in doing any writing or have stories to share we are always looking to feature our members. Thank you again for all your support and don’t hesitate to give any feedback or suggestions.
